Alexander Levtov - Classical Guitar and RSM Principal

Alexander Levtov was educated in St. Petersberg, Russia specialising in classical guitar at the Mussorgsky Music College. Since emigrating to the United Kingdom in 1979 he has been teaching classical guitar privately as well as at various schools, colleges and adult education establishments. In 1993 he founded the West Sussex Guitar Club where, as its Artistic Director, he continues to develop its programme of professional performance, festivals, workshops and master classes. In 1997, together with his pianist wife Nina, he founded the Regis School of Music and as its Principal, combines extensive teaching with the running of professional concert series’ and coordinating various musical activities. In addition to these two roles, he is also Artistic Director of Regis School of Music Summer Festival and the Chairman of West Sussex Youth Music Awards – an annual contest for gifted and talented young musicians. He has been a visiting instrumental tutor at Chichester University since 1998.
